Strengthened by Collaboration.
John Templeton Foundation
Our work builds upon and expands the planning grant and pilot project that was funded by the John Templeton Foundation (JTF) and successfully executed between 2019 and 2021. This foundational project addressed the challenge of “big questions” in the classroom, using a holistic approach to connect science with other fields like religion, ethics, and philosophy in a pedagogically fruitful way.
The successful pilot project, which trained over 100 teachers, has now been expanded to train hundreds more, enhance our educational materials, and collect classroom data on the impact of our methodology.
- Addressing "Big Questions": The foundation's support was crucial in developing our methodologically sound approach to interdisciplinary teaching.
- From Pilot to Expansion: The current project significantly extends the learnings from the initial pilot, aiming to train 320 additional teachers.
- Focus on Impact and Adoption: We are now focused on publishing results, disseminating findings, and briefing policymakers to create support for wider adoption.
LUMS & AKU
We are proud to have collaborated with two of Pakistan’s most prestigious universities—LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences) and AKU (Aga Khan University). We have conducted in-person workshops at both campuses, and these collaborations highlight the academic strength and interdisciplinary vision that shape our fellowship.
Not only did these leading institutions host our programs, but their distinguished faculty also contributed as guest speakers and thought leaders, adding immense value and expertise.
- Academic Hosting: Both LUMS and AKU have hosted in-person workshops on their prestigious campuses, providing an excellent environment for learning.
- Faculty Contribution: Renowned faculty members from both universities, including distinguished deans and prominent educationists, have participated as guest speakers.
- Strengthening Our Vision: These collaborations add significant academic strength and reinforce the interdisciplinary vision that shapes our fellowship program.
SEAQIS, Indonesia

Together, we are integrating holistic approaches into science education across Southeast Asia, fostering global dialogue and collaboration through successful in-person and online workshops.
- Successful Regional Workshops: We conducted a highly successful in-person workshop in Jakarta with more than 30 secondary school teachers, in addition to two online workshops, extending our reach across the region.
- Fostering Accessibility: To ensure deeper engagement and accessibility for local educators, SEAQIS provided invaluable support by translating our program content into Bahasa Indonesia.
- Long-Term Capacity Building: SEAQIS has expressed interest in extending our collaboration into the Master Trainer Program, demonstrating a strong commitment to strengthening long-term capacity in the region.
